EKADASHI FAST

EKADASHI is the eleventh day of the lunar cycle which is 4 days before the Full Moon Day and 4 days before the New Moon Day. This falls every 15 days, twice a month.Fasting on Ekadashi not only means restricting a complete diet but involves standard hygiene practices. Fruits and milk can be taken by a person who is fasting.

Benefits of Ekadashi fast :

1. LONG LIFE
Telomeres are like little caps on the ends of our chromosomes. They protect genetic information from becoming damaged during cell replication. The length of junk DNA decides the age of a person. With each division of the cell, we are losing a part of the telomere. Once this telomere strand is completely used up in cell divisions we reach the end of our Life.
If we reduce the calorie intake, the cell division rate also goes down.Intermittent fasting (once every 2 weeks for 36 hours) can increase the life span.️

2.ATTAIN A MEDITATIVE & CALM MIND
On the day of Ekadashi, the very planet is in a certain state, so if we keep our body light and available, our awareness will turn inward.

3.FOR BETTER DIGESTION
It’s scientifically proven that our body needs rest from digestion.Undigested food( poison)/ excess food turns to poison, fasting release the toxins.Fasting allows the digestive system to adjust, realigned & rejuvenate itself, which is very good for health & mind.

4.TO GET A HEALTHY & ACTIVE BODY
As the moon comes closer to the Earth & pulls the water towards itself by force of gravity. The moon has a strong influence on the water during the above days.We all know that the human body is made up of water( 70 %)and If we eat grains, they absorb water, which can create diseases due to the moon’s gravity attracting the water.
